About Us
Did you know Black women are nationally 3-4x more likely to die due to pregnancy-related complications than White women. That number increases to 7-8x more likely to die in the state of New Jersey. MOCHI, Mothers of Civilization Healing Initiative, is determined to change that. MOCHI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the Black maternal mortality rate through education and supportive services. Our Mission
Our mission is to provide compassionate, culturally affirming, and holistic care to women, with a special emphasis on BIPOC women throughout the transformative journey of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. We are committed to uplifting and empowering each woman by offering birth and postpartum support, emotional guidance, and community-based services that honor their unique experiences, promote health equity, and ensure every mother receives the dignity and care she deserves.
